MINISTRIES  OF OUR CHURCH

MUSIC & WORSHIP

Shiloh is blessed to have a voice choir and a bell choir, which provide special music for Sunday and holiday worship services. Rehearsals are on Tuesdays, September through May.  The bell choir is currently active, and the voice choir will resume when safe after COVID numbers decline.

The music and worship team helps to plan a variety of special services and seasonal themes for worship, and is always looking for new ways to experience God and Spirit when we gather.

Newcomers are always welcome to participate in team meetings or either choir.  Please call the church for details.

HOSPITALITY

Although large events sponsored by the hospitality team have been on hold during COVID, we very much look forward to when we can once again enjoy meals and refreshments at various events, thanks to this team.

VISITATION

One thing we value at Shiloh is our connectedness as a body of faith. This includes keeping in contact and providing spiritual support for those who are homebound or physically unable to attend our regular worship and other activities.

Team members keep contact with homebound members through phone calls, cards and letters, as well as home visits when requested. This team also coordinates Christmas caroling in December, and delivering audio recordings of worship services to our homebound members who are not able to access our in person or online services.

FAITH FORMATION

This team supports the spiritual growth and faith formation for members of all ages.

Shiloh offers Sunday morning, weekday and weeknight groups  and classes.  Often we take a deeper look at the scripture read in worship.  Topics have included  study of the Bible and various forms of prayer, the Biblical basis of our Open and Affirming stance, and book studies on anti-racism or other current topics.  Confirmation class is available for youth in grade 7 and older, and intergenerational activities including mission projects are also offered.

JOURNEY TEAM

Shiloh is on a journey of faith, inviting others to come  with us.  We've spearheaded our LGBTQ Open and Affirming journey, and  sponsored vigils such as the Transgender Day of Remembrance.  Current focus is to continue our Open and Affirming work by becoming A2A and working to create a just world for all, inclusive of their physical abilities or mental health challenges.

PRAYER GROUP

Our prayer team responds to prayer requests coming in by phone or email, requested verbally or in writing during our worship service, or left in the prayer box in our lobby.  We support each other and the wider community in prayer, and pray for national and global concerns.  You may ask that your prayer request remain confidential for the prayer team members only.
